Yumi Heo was born and raised in Korea.  When she was four, her mother gave her a box of crayons and encouraged her to draw throughout her childhood. She came to New York in 1989 and received an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.
Her acclaimed work has been shown both nationally and internationally.
